Melissa Baswell, Founder and Designer of Mountains of the Moon, is inspired by the concept of discovering nature in urban environments.  Melissa's designs are elegant and slightly romantic, but always with an edge.  Flowers are represented through her organic cotton fabrics; water inspired waves are represented through her use of ruffles and draping; all contrasted by her use of sharp lines and tiered detailing, representing urban architecture. 

According to Melissa, "The theme of uniting nature and metropolis reappears in my designs and is, in essence, the foundation of my label."  As with every Mountains of the Moon collection, each design is made in the USA from sustainable fabrics, such as organic cotton, hemp and tencel, and dyed with eco-friendly, low-impact dyes.
