Erin Hasler, the creator of Ija Designs wanted to create an accessible eco-friendly jewelry line that would highlight the individuality of its wearer. “Women are so complex and multifaceted, and I wanted to create a line that would complement each of those facets uniquely,” says Hasler. Designed to fit a punk rock queen or an elegant glamour goddess, Hasler creates pieces to fit every mood. The Ija Designs studio runs on 100% renewable energy through a local Blue Sky program and uses recycled metals and scrap material. Erin Hasler, the designer, even uses a skylight while crafting, so the majority of her work is created using the natural light of Mother Nature. Also, she hand forges her pieces so there is a minimal use of machines; Ija Designs is fueled by “woman power!”
Ija Designs is currently featured in the December 2009 issue of Glamour and current issue of People StyleWatch.
